Spring is here and I’m thrilled to have you join me for an early spring home tour. If you’re coming from Myquillyn’s, The Nester, early spring home tour welcome! Wasn’t her home tour lovely? I just want to go sit in that wingback chair of hers and sip coffee with a good book!

Now I’d like to take you on a little tour of our home.

Our spring home includes lots of greenery (faux and real), lightweight textured throw pillows and blankets, various collections of white ceramic pieces, and sunshine (as our doors and windows just stay open). With our home having a neutral palette, enhancing our décor through the seasons is easy. I simply look for splashes of color, in this case, earth-toned weathered pots and botanicals for spring.

Entryway
When you first walk into our home, you will notice a large gallery wall above a chalk painted bench. This bench was originally teakwood that we painted with Duck Egg Annie Sloan paint and finished off with Annie Sloan clear wax. This bench stays well stocked with cozy, textured pillows and a blanket. A rustic hat rack helps visitors have a place to hang their coats, purses, and other items. For spring, I added some real lavender to the hanging planter. It provides a fresh scent when you walk into our home.

The entryway connects with our living room, which is why I used a long jute rug runner to help designate this space as a true entryway/foyer area separate from our living room.

The chippy white table was a “love at first sight” find from a local barn sale here in Alabama. Its great character caught my eye and I knew I had to have it. It’s holding a collection of bottles, filled with faux white tulips for spring.

Living Room
Our living room is a place where our children enjoy doing their homework, friends and family spend time talking, and we gather to watch good movies. For spring, I removed my gray velvet pillows and replaced them with more neutral pillows of varying textures. I love chenille pillows this year; it gives a time-worn feel to our sofas.

I also added some real plants to this space, including rosemary and more lavender. Talk about smelling good!

My spring mantle includes faux botanicals with textured terra cotta pots (all from Hobby Lobby) and a touch of spring whimsy with the bunnies.

Shelves are a fun way to change up your décor season to season! For spring, these shelves are holding several white ceramic pieces, chippy corbels, and more faux greenery.

Kitchen
This chippy cabinet typically holds my Rae Dunn Clay collection, and for spring it is full of Rae Dunn Easter mugs. For a fuller, casual look I enjoy stacking my pieces.  Bunnies continue to make their appearance in this space too, both inside and atop the cabinet.

Coffee is something that my husband and I enjoy having every morning in this kitchen. That’s why when we received this Ninja Coffee Bar System from Ninja we couldn’t’ t wait to replace our old (and very used) one. I cannot tell you how amazing a cup of coffee tastes by using their system; it even comes with a frother, which is amazing! So, this little space just became one of my favorites because it’s like a coffee shop in our home now! Mornings just got 10x better and easier!

Dining Room
Just a few days ago, we received this incredible wallpaper from Milton and King. It is their Queensland Weatherboards wallpaper. And to say I’m just a little excited about how it turned out is an understatement! You can find this wallpaper and so many other beautiful options here.

This very user-friendly wallpaper (it only took my husband a little over 1 ½ hours to hang up) adds great character as an accent wall in our dining room. I added this decorative arch + magnolia wreath to add some depth to the design.

These metal chairs (found here) are a new addition to our dining room as well.  They are so easy to clean and lightweight, making it easier to clean up after dinner.

This sign is one my husband created and is a wonderful reminder of what we want to set our minds on in our home. For spring, I placed an oversized glass jug on the table with faux lambs ear.

Chippy Shelf
This shelf is one of my favorite pieces in our home and was another find from a barn sale. Plus, it’s pink! For spring, I layered it with a custom made sign, an old window and wreath made out of garland, and spring florals.
